Replace oxygen (O2) sensorUnplug oxygen sensor. Remove stone shield from sensor if equipped Unscrew oxygen sensor from exhaust. InstallationIf not already applied, cover threads of new sensor with anti seize lubricant. Take care not to apply any lubricants to any other part of the sensor other than the threads. Tighten to correct torque. BMW recommended replacement intervalsSince 1985 models, BMW has used heated O2 sensors. These sensors have 3 wires and require replacement at 50,000 mile intervals. There are no warning lights on these models. |
