Blower motor resistor, replace.

Remove negative cable from battery in trunk. 610024.jpg (37957 bytes)
Remove rubber seal from top edge of firewall in engine bay. 510132.jpg (29227 bytes)
Remove plastic cover from wiring at top of firewall by pulling top edge towards engine. 510133.jpg (28204 bytes)
Remove the two Phillips screws securing the diagnostic connector bracket and one Phillips screw at the other end of the wiring support. Pull wiring support away from firewall as far as possible. 610031.jpg (31810 bytes)
Remove the four 7mm screws securing upper panel to firewall.  Lift out panel. 510134.jpg (33380 bytes) 510135.jpg (26997 bytes)
Pull open white plastic straps over blower motor cover, cut small plastic ties joining the upper and lower sections of the straps and rotate the strap halves 90° so they clear the blower cover. 640043.jpg (29253 bytes)
Lift off the cover by pulling free from the housing. Rotate cover up around blower until lower edge clears firewall, pull lower edge into engine bay, rotate cover down until upper edge clears firewall. Remove cover. 640044.jpg (29324 bytes)
Locate the resistor plate below the blower motor, grab plate and pull straight forward. Plate will slide straight out. 640042.jpg (25118 bytes)
 

Installation

Set new resistor plate on tracks in blower housing and slide straight back, ensuring positive engagement of wiring connector. Vehicles with AC should have 4 pins on the back of the resistor.  White resistors with three pins are for cars without AC. 640014.jpg (48636 bytes)
