Switch is located on the forward pillar of each door.
Open door and remove single Phillips screw from switch
Slide switch out of pillar and disconnect wiring.
Switch is grounded to
body. When door is opened, connection is made from body ground to brown/???? wire (second
color varies with each door, yellow, shown, is for front left door.) This ground signal is
sent to the interior light timer control relay, which is located below the front left
speaker, alongside the central locking control unit. See picture below. Green wire
pictured is not used.
To access timer relay, remove left front speaker , lift out plastic cover
below speaker (white arrow) and remove two Phillips screws (green arrows). Lift
timer and central locking control unit assembly out of pillar. Ensure ignition is off
before moving central locking control unit.
