| Remove differential or driveshaft. |

| Clean front of differential to prevent contamination of bearings. |
|
| Use a chisel to crimp locking washer on pinion nut. Pull locking washer
off nut. |
|
| Use a chisel to stake the nut and end of the pinion shaft to mark position
of nut. |

| Remove nut. |
|
| Slide off pinion flange. Inspect flange for damage. |
|
| Pry out seal, take care to not damage the housing. |
 |
| Clean old oil from housing, inspect housing for damage on seal surface,
correct if necessary. |
 |
| Apply a small amount of RTV sealer to the outer edge of the new seal. |
 |
| Install new seal in housing until it is flush with housing lip. |
 |
NOTE: If pinion flange has a groove from running against the old seal,
counter sink new seal to prevent seal running in the existing groove.

| Lightly lubricate surface of flange with oil. |
|
| Install flange, use Loctite 262 on pinion nut and tighten only until
chisel marks are aligned. |
|
WARNING: Over tightening of pinion nut will result in
failure of pinion bearing.
