Dash vents, removing or tightening
| As these cars get older, often the vents in the dash will loose tension,
causing them to drop, or migrate upwards with air flow. |
| Rather than replace the vents, a simple, quick and permanent fix is to add
an O ring to the pivot of the vent. |
| Remove the effected vent by turning downwards until it stops, then forcing
it further downwards until it clicks. At this point, the horizontal adjusting tab should
be resting against the frame of the vent |
 |
| Pull the vent away from the dash evenly, it will slide out of the frame. (Photo
shows vent end for purposes of displaying guide channel, vent cannot be removed on this
angle ) |
 |
| Place an O ring on one of the pivot pins inside the vent frame, place the
O ring on one side only or the vent will become too tight. |
