Tech tip :To prevent the nut plate from falling inside the pillar, requiring removal
of the trim, loosen the top bolt but do not remove it.
Remove the bottom bolt, rotate the striker so that the bottom
hole is accessible in the pillar. Insert a screwdriver, or better still, a small hook into
the hole and hold the nut plate.
Remove the upper bolt, remove the striker, install the new
striker and insert the top bolt, without having let go of the hook in the lower hole, the
top hole should still be lined up.
Once the top bolt is finger tight, remove the hook and rotate the
striker into place. Insert the lower bolt.
