Rear shock absorber, remove and install

With car resting on ground, remove the battery cover, jack and lug wrench and side trunk trim panels
Remove rubber cover from top shock mount.

Rubber cover must be removed as it will not fit through the hole in the body.

Remove the two 13mm nuts from the top shock mount 330002.jpg (52759 bytes)
Raise vehicle and remove rear wheels.
Remove 19mm bolt from bottom of each shock. 330003.jpg (46046 bytes)
Pull shock away from control arm and remove.

Torques

Shock mount to tower : 21.5 Nm (16 ft lbs.)
Shock to control arm : 87 Nm (63 ft lbs.)
10.9 bolts, 100 Nm (72 ft lbs.)
Shock nut at mount : 15 Nm (11 ft lbs.)
