Ride height, check and correct.

Check ride height with the following conditions met

Full tank of fuel
68kg (150 lbs.) on each front seat, with each seat in the center of its available travel.
21 kg (46 lbs.) in center of trunk.

Measure the height between the bottom edge of the highest point of the wheel arch and the lowest point of the rim

If vehicle is not at specified height, the chances are very great that it is due to either aftermarket or worn springs.

In all but a very few instances, installing new factory springs will restore ideal ride height.

BMW does offer a large variety of correction springs that can be used to raise or lower the vehicle anywhere from 4 to 22mm. These measurements vary depending on current installed spring, and which new spring you chose.

Ride height measurements should only be used to determine correction springs if the current springs are new.
