Selector rod, aluminum shift platform, remove and install

Remove driveshaft from transmission if clearance is required

Remove circlip and washer from bottom of shift lever and slide selector rod out of lever.

Loosen left bolt and remove right bolt of support on rear of transmission, above shift selector shaft, and swing support to the left.

Slide locking sleeve forward on coupling and drive out retaining pin.

Remove shift rod.

Installation

Replace coupling and insert new foam pad in end of coupling.

Replace O rings on coupling and plastic washers at shift lever.

M3 : Coupling is installed without O rings

If coupling is offset, offset should be placed to the left, so that selector rod is pushed to the right.

Lubricate all pivot points with grease.

Torques

M3 Support bolts to transmission : 21.5 Nm (16 ft lbs.)
M3 Shift arm to platform : 11 Nm (8 ft lbs.)
Driveshaft bolts : 71 Nm (51 ft lbs.)
Output flange nut : Apply Loctite 270 to shaft, discard locking ring. 170 Nm (123 ft lbs.), loosen and retighten to 120 Nm (87 ft lbs.)
