Oil filter, replaceUnscrew filter with appropriate filter wrench Discard used oil and filter sensibly. InstallationLubricate gasket on new filter with a film of engine oil Screw filter on until gasket touches housing surface. Turn filter one half turn more. Fill or check engine oil, start engine, if engine does not achieve oil pressure within 10 seconds, shut engine off, loosen filter approximately 90° and run engine until oil flows from filter, tighten filter. This should bleed out any trapped air. The need for this procedure is very rare and unlikely to be encountered. |
